For the past 3 years, Richview Baptist Church in Etobicoke has been holding a huge garage sale with silent auction and BBQ to raise money to provide clean drinking water to people in developing countries where there is a high rate of death and illness due to waterborne diseases.
Money raised was donated to Water Ambassadors Canada. This past October Richview was privileged to send 11 drillers (3 of whom were teenagers,) to drill a well in Nicaragua. They saw first hand the devastation poverty and unclean water can cause. That’s why this year they are raising more money so that with your help they can raise more awareness and do even more to help!
The Youth groups delivered flyers around the community to notify and ask residences for donations of salable items. They have also solicited businesses in the community for items for their silent auction. Some of the items in the past auctions have included spa gift certificates, cruises, restaurant vouchers, movie passes, big screen tv, jewellery, and more.
